KASON JACKSON

PRESIDENT | 2025-2027

Kason Jackson currently serves as Assistant Principal in Piscataway Township Schools, where he is a passionate advocate for student success, equity, diversity, and inclusion. Prior to his work in administration, Mr. Jackson spent eight years as Director of Vocal Music at Carteret High School, where he built a thriving, inclusive program that engaged over 100 students across multiple choirs and levels of instruction. Under his leadership, his ensembles consistently achieved superior ratings at regional and national competitions.


Mr. Jackson holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education with a concentration in Voice from Rutgers University's Mason Gross School of the Arts and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Kean University.


Throughout his career, Mr. Jackson has been recognized for his commitment to excellence and student-centered leadership, receiving honors such as NJMEA’s 2023 NFHS Outstanding Music Educator Award, the 2019–20 "Teacher Who Makes Magic" recognition, and the 2018–19 NJ Governor’s Educator of the Year Award. Deeply committed to fostering equitable opportunities for all students, Mr. Jackson has previously served as the Assistant Inclusivity Chair for the New Jersey American Choral Directors Association.


Today, he continues to lead in the field of education as President of NJACDA and a member of the Strategic Planning Committee for NJMEA, always striving to create school environments where every student can thrive.
